Detroit Metropolitan Airport North Terminal
Ferndale Electric was awarded the Detroit Metropolitan Airport North Terminal Redevelopment Project Special Systems contract. The North Terminal Redevelopment (NTR) Project was a planned 26-gate terminal complex designed to replace the airport’s older Davey, Berry and Smith Terminal complex. The new facility encompasses 824,000 square feet and is about .75 miles in length or the equivalent of a 160-story building. There are over 150 communication cabinets distributed between more than 36 telecommunication rooms (Special Systems Rooms). Our portion of work started July of 2007 and was completed September 2008.
