BRIDGE & TUNNEL PROJECTS :

Overview

Some of the most specialized construction projects are bridges and tunnels. They require extensive planning and coordination with owners and other trades. Ferndale Electric is one of a handful of contractors in Michigan and the Midwest with bridge and tunnel experience. We have renovated the electrical systems on Blue Water Bridge I and installed the electrical system on Blue Water Bridge II. Additionally, Ferndale has completed the electrical work for the St. Clair Rail Tunnel and installed a myriad of electronic systems at these sites for the federal government.

Ferndale Electric has also completed many bascule bridges projects in the Midwest. Because most of these projects are over navigable waterways, the job must be done during the winter, when the bridge can remain lowered. Ferndale's experience with bridge controls, communications, and service requirements has helped move many of these projects forward.
